Why Become a Member?
Obtaining your real estate license does not automatically classify you as a REALTOR®. The terms REALTOR®, REALTOR-ASSOCIATE®, and REALTORS® are officially registered trademarks of the National Association of REALTORS®.
Membership in the Kent Washington Association of REALTORS® signifies your commitment to adhering to a stringent Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. This Code is a pledge to treat sellers and buyers with fairness and integrity.
Since 1916, when the distinctive term REALTOR® was first coined, the public has come to recognize those who use these marks as members of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®.
When individuals embark on a journey to buy or sell a home, it’s crucial for them to understand the distinction between a real estate agent and a REALTOR®. Unlike a Real Estate Agent, a REALTOR® has dedicated themselves to providing real estate-related services in accordance with the Code of Ethics and the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and competence.
Furthermore, beyond holding a real estate license, a REALTOR® is a member of a Professional Trade Association. In our case, this includes membership in the Kent Washington Association of REALTORS®, Rhode Island Association of REALTORS® (RIAR), and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). These trade associations work diligently to enhance property values and collaborate closely with policymakers at all levels to safeguard the rights of private property owners.
